President’s Welcome
Hello Wisconsin Technologists!
I am so grateful to serve as your President during the 2022-2023 term. During my time as President Elect, I have been involved in making decisions to ensure the success of the WSRT in the future and ensure the continued quality of the Radiologic Technologists working in our state.
I am happy to say that our renewed in-person symposium in April was a success thanks to the hard work of the Board members contributing their time and effort to organize the event. I would like to thank the Board, our members, our speakers, and our sponsors for coming together to make this event memorable and educational.
I am excited to say that we are planning to return to the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells, WI from April 9-12, 2023. This event will continue to be a combination of our yearly WSRT meeting and the WAERT Educational Symposium. As with this year’s meeting, we will work to make sure that content appeals to students and technologists alike with an eye towards interesting and timely subjects for CEU. We have received the feedback from this year’s format and will continue to develop the event to address the needs and concerns of students and technologists and to benefit all.
I would like to welcome new board members: Member at Large Allie Liezert-Dale and President-elect Miranda Hurley. Each new member brings experience and energy to the WSRT and will surely contribute to the growth and success of the WSRT. The success of the WSRT depends on dedicated volunteers who are passionate advocates for their profession and the patients they serve.
Radiographers in Wisconsin and nationwide continue to face challenges to establishing and maintaining state licensure. Here in Wisconsin, the WSRT continues to retain the services of Michael Blumenfeld Associates to keep us informed of legislative priorities that threaten our hard-earned licensure. The ASRT and ARRT continue to work closely with the WSRT in this regard as well. Our success in these regards hinges on our members being ever vigilant.
I would like to thank the members of the WSRT for this exciting opportunity. I have always worked to provide safe, quality imaging to my patients. Volunteering with the WSRT has provided an opportunity, not only for leadership and networking opportunities for myself, but also an opportunity to give back to the profession that I love and want to continue to grow. I highly encourage others to volunteer and contribute to the fine work of the WSRT. As radiologic technologists, we provide a unique service and we should be proud to be the eyes of medicine.
Respectfully,
Donna Lee R.T.(R) MBA-HA
