Join your colleagues and patients to make the provisions of the
Consumer-Patient Radiation Health and Safety Act, passed in 1981, mandatory
for all states, by supporting the new bill
"Consistency, Accuracy,
Responsibility and Excellence (CARE) in Medical Imaging and Radiation
Therapy".
“Most Americans assume that the person taking their x-ray,
performing their CT scan or delivering their radiation therapy is a qualified
professional,” said Rep. Wilson. “This legislation will ensure that the
people performing radiologic examinations are qualified.”
If you believe that patients should be protected and receive the best radiologic
imaging and therapeutic care by qualified radiologic health care workers, then your voice
can make a difference.
The ASRT, of which the WSRT is an affiliate, along with the American College of
Radiology (ACR), the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists
(ISSRT), and almost a dozen other professional organizations and patient- advisory groups,
support introduction of the legislation.
For more information and a look at the ASRT's Legislative Proposal, check out the
ASRT web site. See Government Relations, select Federal
Minimum Standards, than in the drop down menu under "Whats up in Capital Hill
regarding this legislation", Legislative Proposal.
Contact your Senator or Representative to voice your
positive concern about the proposal. Write your letter today and proudly
use your professional signature!

Please encourage those you meet to join a campaign to STORM the
offices of our Wisconsin Federal Legislators.. We want
them to know that there are many of us who think it is deplorable that there
are no federal minimum standards of education for medical radiologic imaging
and therapeutic workers here in Wisconsin and in the USA. Let's send an
incredible message to them all that they cannot ignore.
Click on the letter, print out, date and sign your name, and send via regular mail
